Clôture de la MINUSTAH

La Mission des Nations Unies pour la stabilisation en Haïti (MINUSTAH) a terminé avec succès son mandat le 15 octobre 2017, donnant lieu à la Mission des Nations Unies pour l’appui à la justice en Haïti (MINUJUSTH) chargée de poursuivre le soutien de l’état de droit, le développement de la police et les efforts en matière de droits de l’homme en Haïti.

MINUSTAH denies shooting individual during crowd gathering on 16 November 2012 in Port au Prince

Port-au-Prince, 16 November 2012 - According to information of MINUSTAH, a Haitian citizen was shot during a crowd gathering which took place today in Port au Prince. The individual was brought to the hospital and was pronounced dead thereafter.

Contrary to initial allegations, we can confirm that No MINUSTAH personnel shot the individual.

Haitian National Police have launched an investigation into the matter and MINUSTAH will as usual cooperate with the HNP.

MINUSTAH SRSG, Mr. Mariano Fernandez, is saddened by the loss of life and extends his sympathies to the family and community members of the deceased.

MINUSTAH and HNP are continuing patrolling throughout the area to ensure that law and order are maintained with an aim to find the perpetrators of this act.
