Clôture de la MINUSTAH

La Mission des Nations Unies pour la stabilisation en Haïti (MINUSTAH) a terminé avec succès son mandat le 15 octobre 2017, donnant lieu à la Mission des Nations Unies pour l’appui à la justice en Haïti (MINUJUSTH) chargée de poursuivre le soutien de l’état de droit, le développement de la police et les efforts en matière de droits de l’homme en Haïti.

Haiti : Prime Minister Laurent Salvador Lamothe officially sworn in

The official inauguration ceremony took place on May 16th at the National Palace in the presence of Haiti President, Michel Joseph Martelly, his spouse, members of the legislative and judiciary branches, former ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, as well as representatives of international organizations, including the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in Haiti, Mariano Fernández Amunátegui.

In his inaugural speech, Mr. Lamothe said that « the time for change has arrived. I know that there is much to be done with many sleepless nights ahead. I have taken on this position because I believe and have the will to serve my country and work for my country, with you, with my whole team, so that together we can accomplish our mission ». In a statement released on the eve of the ceremony, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in Haiti congratulated the Chamber of Deputies for its vote of confidence on Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe's general policy statement, following that of the Senate a week ago.
