Clôture de la MINUSTAH

La Mission des Nations Unies pour la stabilisation en Haïti (MINUSTAH) a terminé avec succès son mandat le 15 octobre 2017, donnant lieu à la Mission des Nations Unies pour l’appui à la justice en Haïti (MINUJUSTH) chargée de poursuivre le soutien de l’état de droit, le développement de la police et les efforts en matière de droits de l’homme en Haïti.

Press Release: MINUSTAH deeply regrets a tragic accident in Saint-Marc today

A tragic road accident involving a MINUSTAH vehicle and a motorcycle occurred earlier this morning, 25 January in the area of St. Marc. MINUSTAH regrets this tragic accident which resulted in one fatality and one injury. Haitian National Police and UNPol were immediately dispatched on location and MINUSTAH has commenced an internal inquiry to determine the circumstances of the accident and is cooperating closely with the Haitian authorities. MINUSTAH’s Acting SRSG, Mr. Nigel Fisher is “Deeply saddened about this tragic loss of life and conveys his sincere sympathies and condolences to the family of the victim and the entire community of St. Marc”. MINUSTAH’s immediate concern is that the injured person is medically seen and the necessary medical attention is given. Mr. Fisher extends wishes of a swift recovery to the injured person on the motorcycle. Mr. Fisher has asked the UN office of the region to be in touch with the family and community leader. MINUSTAH understands the pain that the family and community is going through with the loss of life but urges all to exercise maximum restraint in this moment of grief.
