Organization Setting and Reporting Line: This position is located in Port-au-Prince, United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH). The Electronic Fuel Management System (EFMS) Information Technology Assistant GL-6 reports to Chief Fuel Unit as FRO and Chief Supply Section as SRO.

 

Responsibilities: Within limits of delegated authority, the EFMS IT Assistant GL-6 will carry out the following duties:

Maintaining the quality of data, continuity and the stability of the EFMS-2 system during its post deployment phase.

Ensuring accurate standard procedures are followed by remote and local fuel staff in capturing the fuel transactions effectively and timely manner.

Act as liaison with contractors to ensure the smooth running of the EFMS-2 system.

Identify problems and issues relating to failed transactions, reporting and resolving issues in a timely manner.

Act as focal point and liaison to OICT/New York to resolve any data and technical issues in EFMS-2 and report them in timely manner.

Act as technical support and liaison with CITS to troubleshoot issues with the software and hardware components of EFMS-2. Ensure local and remote sites are well connected.

Monitor, support as part of fuel team in the analysis of transactions, update of equipment and reports generated by EFMS-2 system.

Monitor, analyze and report on over-consumption and misappropriation of fuel consumption. Performs other duties as required.

Work implies frequent interaction with the following:

Staff in the immediate work Unit, Section and within the Mission.

CITS, FOM field stations. Civilian and Contingent Logistics Officers. Suppliers Vendors and Service Providers.

Education: - High school diploma is required. Computer Science and information technology system certification or equivalent is highly desirable.

Work Experience: - At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in computer science is required. Computer skills in software applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and other databases is highly desirable.

 

Languages:  - English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in oral and written French and English is required.
