The United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from interested and qualified companies wishing to be considered for inclusion in a possible bid invitation to be launched for the Provision of Diesel Powered Generators comprising various sizes ranging from 50KVA to 500KVA on a Rental Basis  “as and when required basis” (or when the need arises)

The required services shall include the provision of reliable, Generator Sets to provide continuous, uninterrupted power supply to its establishments at various locations throughout Haiti. The MINUSTAH facilities where the Generator Sets will be installed are located in several towns and cities all over Haiti from Fort Liberte in the north to Jeremie in the South. Some of these facilities are there on a long-term basis, while others are there on ad-hoc (temporary) basis. Those long-term requirements have a source of power through different arrangements. But the “ad-hoc” requirements do not and are the ones, which are the subject of this EOI. Prospective Contractors should be aware of the logistical considerations of providing the required services in Haiti and make sure they have the capacity to deliver.

The Provider(s) will install, operate and maintain the necessary equipment inclusive of all manpower, fuel, oil, lubricants, spare parts, tools, implements, software, technology, supervision and management to supply MINUSTAH with reliable, constant and uninterrupted electrical power of 127 / 220 volts 60 Hz, or 230/400 V 50Hz.

The contractor should have institutional capabilities and three (3) years experience in providing similar services. Qualified Companies interested in providing the said services are requested to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) no later than 15 August 2012 at 10:00 a.m. (Dominican Republic Time) via facsimile or Email to the address indicated above. The EOI must include the following information:

•           Name of the Company

•           Postal and physical address

•           Phone number

•           Fax number

•           E-mail address

•           Name and title of the contact person

•           Brief explanation on the background and experience of the Company including clients’ references.

To secure the required services, MINUSTAH will possibly undertake a competitive bidding exercise. The awarded contractor will sign an initial two (2) years contract and possible extension of additional three (3) one year terms depending on operational needs, satisfactory performance of the contractor and the conditions laid down by MINUSTAH. The contract will be awarded to the contractor, who can demonstrate, through a written proposal having significant level of experience, ability and competence. This request for EOI does not constitute a solicitation. MINUSTAH reserves the right in selecting the companies to participate in the bidding. MINUSTAH also reserves the right to change or cancel any of this requirements at any time in the EOI and/or possible bid invitation process. Responding to this EOI does not guarantee that such company will be invited to tender.
