 Coordinate social mobilization and outreach activities in the target communities so as to complement and enhance the dividends obtained through project implementation;

 Establish formal relationships with local authorities to provide support, assistance and guidance to facilitate the execution of their municipal duties, as well as to assist the municipality to capitalize on the peace dividends generated by the CVR programme in their neighborhoods with the aim to reinforce their interaction with their communities to strengthen their commitment vis-à-vis these communities;

 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of events relating to social and political issues as they affect the target communities and relate them to the Field Coordinator through short note to file;

 Maintain contacts at the field level with other sectors of the Mission (military component, Justice, Corrections, Human Rights, Child Protection, Gender, HIV/AIDS, UNPOL, JMAC, JOTC and CIMIC), UN international partners and local government authorities on matters pertinent to project implementation in the target communities;

 Assist in defining the field office work plan in accordance with established terms of reference;

 Perform other related duties as required by the Field Coordinator.

EDUCATION

High School diploma (Bacc II) is required.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience in DDR, civil affairs, international affairs, development or security.

LANGUAGE

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in written and spoken French is required and knowledge of English will be asset. Other Possession of a valid driving permit and ability to drive 4x4 vehicles in off road conditions is necessary.
