Le «Core Group» salue la prestation de serment et l’installation des membres du Conseil Electoral Provisoire et invite à l’achèvement du processus électoral entamé en 2015

Port-au-Prince, 31 mars 2016 - La Représentante spéciale du Secrétaire général des Nations Unies et les autres membres du «Core Group» (les Ambassadeurs du Brésil, du Canada, d’Espagne, de France, des États-Unis d'Amérique, de l'Union Européenne, et le Représentant spécial de l'Organisation des États américains) saluent la prestation de serment et l’installation le 30 mars des membres du Conseil Electoral Provisoire (CEP).  Le « Core Group » salue l’élection du Bureau du CEP et son intention déclarée d’organiser des élections crédibles, transparentes et inclusives.

Le « Core Group » invite les autorités compétentes et les acteurs concernés à œuvrer ensemble afin d’achever, sans plus de délai, le processus électoral entamé en 2015 en vue de pourvoir aux postes électifs tant au niveau présidentiel, législatif, municipal et local, pour assurer la continuité institutionnelle prévue par l’Accord du 5 février.

Le «Core Group» réitère son plein soutien au Gouvernement et au peuple haïtien ainsi qu’aux efforts de toutes les parties prenantes pour le renforcement de la stabilité, la consolidation de la démocratie et le rétablissement de l’ordre constitutionnel.

The “Core Group” welcomes the swearing-in and installation of the members of the Provisional Electoral Council and encourages conclusion
of the electoral process begun in 2015

Port-au-Prince, 31 March 2016 – The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the other members of the "Core Group" (the Ambassadors of Brazil, Canada, France, Spain, United States of America, the European Union and the Special Representative of the Organization of American States) welcome the swearing-in and the installation on 30 March of the members of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP).  The Core Group welcomes the election of the Bureau of the CEP and its stated intention to organise credible, transparent and inclusive elections.

The Core Group encourages the relevant authorities and actors concerned to work together in order to conclude without further delay the electoral process begun in 2015 aimed at filling presidential as well as legislative, municipal and local elected posts, to ensure the institutional continuity foreseen in the 5 February Agreement.   

The Core Group reiterates its full support to the Haitian Government and people as well as the efforts of all stakeholders aimed at reinforcing stability, consolidating democracy and restoring constitutional order.
