Une vingtaine d’officiers de la Police Nationale d’Haïti (PNH) à Jacmel ont suivi une formation de deux semaines sur tous les domaines relatifs à la Police judiciaire.
Inscrite dans le plan de formation de la direction départementale de la police du Sud-Est, celle-ci a porté sur l’investigation criminelle, la rédaction des procès-verbaux, les techniques de perquisition, les visites domiciliaires et la sécurisation des scènes de crime.
Enthousiasmés par la pertinence des thèmes développés par les policiers des Nations Unies (UNPol), les agents formés n’ont pas caché leur satisfaction tout en s’engageant en retour à appliquer au quotidien les notions apprises. Le directeur de la PNH du Sud-est, le commissaire de police Frantz Elbé s’est réjoui de voir ainsi les capacités des policiers renforcées.
Il a par ailleurs souligné, lors de la remise des certificats de participation, qu’avec l’appui de la MINUSTAH « l’ensemble des policiers déployés à travers les dix communes du département, a été formé ou recyclé suivant les besoins spécifiques de chacun ».
En marge de cette formation, les participants ont reçu une copie du Code pénal, du Code d’instruction criminelle et du Guide de l’Agent d’Investigation Policière. La même formation a eu lieu à Port de Paix, Fort Liberté, Gonaïves, Hinche et bientôt à Jérémie dans la Grande Anse.

Twenty officers of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) in Jacmel followed a two-week training course on all matters relating to judicial policing.
Included in the training plan for the South-East Department's Police force, was instruction that focused on criminal investigation, verbatim reporting, search techniques, home visits and securing crime scenes.
Excited about the relevance of the themes developed by the United Nations Police (UNPol), the officers trained all demonstrated their satisfaction with the course, while pledging to apply on a daily basis the concepts learned.
The head of the South-East PNH, Police Commissioner Frantz Elbé, welcomed the strengthened capacity of the police force under his juristiction. At the presentation of certificates of participation, with the support of MINUSTAH, he stressed that "All police officers deployed throughout the ten municipalities of the Department, were 'formed' or 'refreshed' according to the specific training needs of each." In addition to instruction, participants in the course received a copy of the Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Police Officer's Guide to Investigation.
Identical training took place in Port de Paix, Fort Liberté, Gonaïves, Hinche – and, shortly, in Jérémie in Grande Anse .
