Port-au-Prince, April 17th 2014 - The French actor Lambert Wilson is the special guest of Michel Drucker on 'Vivement Dimanche' - the hugely-popular Sunday afternoon programme on the French television channel France 2 on April 20th (Easter Sunday) and rebroadcasted on TV5Monde.

The programme – transmitted at 14.15 CET – will celebrate Lambert Wilson's three decade-long career as an actor, and will consecrate a section to Mr Wilson's ongoing involvement with the United Nation's Mission in Haiti and his considerable emotional ties with Haiti and its people.

"My fascination for Haiti and my engagement to help promote a more positive international vision of what's really happening there is total. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the UN – and most particularly the Stabilization Mission [MINUSTAH] - for giving me the opportunity to really engage. I hope that this relationship is only beginning – as my visits to Haiti have been enormously enriching on a personal level."

Lambert Wilson and Michel Drucker of 'Vivement Dimanche' have invited the Haitian singing star BélO to perform and speak on the programme – along with Haitian-born Michaëlle Jean, Special Envoy to UNESCO in Haiti (and former Governor General of Canada). Together, Mr Wilson, BélO and the Right Honorable Madame Jean will discuss their passion for Haiti and their ongoing engagement to support a sustainable future.

Other guests on 'Vivement Dimanche' will include the comedian Valerie Lemercier, actor Michel Bouquet, iconic singing star Boy George, Grammy-award winning jazz singer Gregory Porter and Nicolle Croisille (best known internationally for songs such as the theme from 'Un Homme et Une Femme' and 'Parlez-moi de lui').

In addition, Mr Wilson will promote his latest film as an actor - 'Barbecue' – and he will be joined on 'Vivement Dimanche' by other cast members including Florence Foresti and Franck Dubosc. He will also speak about the 67th Cannes Film Festival next month (14th- 25th May) of which his is Master of Ceremonies.

Lambert Wilson has recently (last month) made a documentary on one of the Community Violence Reduction programmes run by MINUSTAH for the French TV channel Canal+. This film – to be broadcast in June – is Mr Wilson’s directorial debut as a filmmaker.

Lambert Wilson is perhaps best known internationally for his role as Mérovingien in two of the 'Matrix' films. He has worked with almost every major film director in Europe including the late Alain Resnais on four films. He has starred alongside actors such as Catherine Deneuve, Michael Caine, Sharon Stone, Halle Berry, Sean Connery, Jane Fonda, Mathew McConaughey.

L’émission célèbrera les trois décennies de la carrière d’acteur de Lambert Wilson, et consacrera une section à son implication actuelle auprès de la Mission des Nations Unies en Haïti et aux liens affectifs qu’il a avec Haïti et à son peuple.

Lambert Wilson et Michel Drucker, présentateur de Vivement Dimanche, ont invité la vedette haïtienne BélO à chanter et à s'exprimer dans l’émission, aux côtés de Mme Michaëlle Jean, elle-même haïtienne et Envoyée Spéciale de l'UNESCO pour Haïti. Ensemble, Lambert Wilson, BélO et la très honorable Madame Jean, ancienne Gouverneure générale du Canada, partageront leur passion pour Haïti et leur engagement continu à soutenir un avenir durable.
