The Presidential Commission for Justice Reform, established by Presidential Decree on January 2012, will soon be up-and-running inside the Ministry of Justice & Public Security (MJSP - after Ministère de la Justice et de la Sécurité Publique), located in the centre of Port-au-Prince.

Six peacekeepers from the Paraguayan military contingent of MINUSTAH (PARENGCOY) are currently building three prefabricated structures to house the Commission's offices. The structures will be ready for occupation in a few weeks time.

Launched on February 20th, 2014, the project coordinated by the Mission's Project Unit (known as MPC) will be completed in late April. The project – costing over U.S. $120,000 – is financed by UNOPS.

Like many Haitian ministries and public facilities, the MJSP offices were destroyed by the 2010 earthquake. In 2011, as part of the implementation of Resolution 1927 of the Security Council, MINUSTAH funded the installation of 14 prefabricated structures to relocate the staff of the Ministry who, up until then, worked in tents. This initial project also included help with the provision of office furniture and office equipment - such as computers.

La Commission présidentielle pour la réforme de la justice, créée par arrêté présidentiel en janvier 2012, sera bientôt installée dans l’enceinte du ministère de la Justice et de la Sécurité publique (MJSP), situé au centre de Port-au-Prince.

Six casques bleus du contingent militaire paraguayen de la MINUSTAH (PARENGCOY) construisent actuellement les 3 structures préfabriquées qui abriteront dans quelques semaines les bureaux de la Commission. Lancés le 20 février 2014, les travaux coordonnés par la Cellule de projets de la Mission (MPC) devraient s’achever fin avril. Ce projet d’une valeur dépassant les 120 000 dollars US est financé par l’UNOPS.
