Port-au-Prince, 28 November 2013 – The Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations and the following members of the international community in Haiti – the ambassadors of Brazil, Canada, France, Spain, the United States of America, and the Special Representative of the Organisation of American States and the Head of Delegation of the European Union, welcome the vote on the Electoral Law by the Haitian Legislature, following the vote by the Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday 27 November which adopted the document in the same terms as the Senate.

This vote marks an important step for the organisation of inclusive, transparent and democratic elections. The above-mentioned representatives urge all relevant actors to continue their concerted work to deepen democracy and stability in Haiti which are essential for the country’s socio-economic development.

Port-au-Prince, 28 novembre 2013 – La Représentante spéciale du Secrétaire général des Nations Unies en Haïti et les membres suivants de la communauté internationale en Haïti - les ambassadeurs du Brésil, de la France, du Canada, de l’Espagne, des Etats-Unis d’Amérique, et le Représentant spécial de l’Organisation des Etats Américains et le Chef de la Délégation de l’Union Européenne, saluent le vote de la loi électorale par le corps législatif haïtien, suite au vote intervenu à la Chambre des députés le mercredi 27 novembre qui a entériné le document dans les mêmes termes que le Sénat.

Ce vote marque une étape importante pour l'organisation d'élections inclusives, transparentes et démocratiques. Les représentants susmentionnés exhortent tous les acteurs concernés à poursuivre leur travail de concert à l'approfondissement de la démocratie et de la stabilité en Haïti, tant essentielles au développement socio-économique du pays.
